Wedding Wednesday: Brooch Bouquets

Remember a few months ago when I posted the picture of Miranda Lambert's bouquet? Well, she was onto something. Since then, I have seen all sorts of brooch bouquets popping up in weddings.
Green Wedding Shoes posted some beautiful pics on her site and Fantasy Floral has an entire image gallery devoted to her beautiful creations. What a special and creative way to individualize your special day!!

What are your thoughts? Do you like this new trend?

I Love This

There was a time when I was an artist...unfortunately, I never worked enough at it to get really good. I keep thinking that if I see a Groupon or Living Social for an art class, I will snag it and maybe pick up a brush again...
I found this post the other day on one of my new favorite blogs, and it got me thinking about all my art that is stashed away in a keepsake box underneath my bed. What a cool way to display kid's art in a really colorful and fun way.

I will definitely have to remember this when it comes time to having my own kiddos.

Have a creative day!

Thanks Target

A few weeks ago, I posted about a sunburst mirror from Target. Well, it arrived a few weeks ago but I finally got around to painting it this past weekend. Here are some pictures from my little DIY project:

1st I had to pop the mirror out of the center, which was extremely simple. As you can see, the finish was pretty but just a little too dark for our room.
This valspar paint was awesome and didn't require any priming!
 Tah-dah!!
It gives this blank wall and this corner a little pop. Hopefully I can find some other smaller ones to add and make a little cluster. I also love how it pulls from the sterling silver frames on my credenza.
Totally worth it for the cost of the mirror and a can of spray paint. Thanks Target!!

Old Christmas Cards

Have you ever wondered what to do with all those old Christmas cards in February? I always hate to throw them away but also hate the massive stack that has been sitting in a bowl on my bookshelf collecting dust since the Holidays. Well, I gifted the Mr. with a fancy bulletin board from Ballard Design for our hallway so we could hang onto the cards for a year longer. It was a fun project to scale down the cards and also have all our friends represented in our home.
I even snuck a few old pictures in there just for fun. Check out this photo of my man when he was just a little guy. Isn't he a cutie? Recycling can be fun :) Have a good day!
