In searching for some outdoor dining chairs to go with the outdoor dining table we are building for our new patio, I have realized how much I absolutely love these antique looking folding chairs. They are so French and just plain lovely don't you think? 

Where can you get these delicious chairs? Does anyone know? Do they even have a special name? I'm looking :)

Trend: Navy Blue

This past weekend, I had a stack of magazines that were waiting for me to flip through. I could not believe how much navy I saw as I turned the pages. Take a look at some of the beautiful blues I found in Elle Magazine and Traditional Home:

Isn't it just lovely!?!?! I am absolutely in love with this color and can't wait to incorporate it more into my home!

Manly Desk

My newest little project is that I am trying to help my Mom redecorate a room in her house for my Dad's new office. She's selected my favorite gray for the room, Bedford gray, which is now up on the walls but still is trying to piece together some of the furniture in the room. Item #1, a desk!

So I have gone on the hunt for an affordable, modern somewhat masculine desk for the room. Their main stipulations are 

1) It be easy to hide chords

2) The desk should have a few drawers for pens, letter opener, etc.

3) It look good on all sides as it will be placed off the wall facing the rest of the room.

Birthday Bliss

I am the luckiest lady on earth for many reasons, but I am especially still reveling in birthday bliss since my sweet hubby gave me the chairs I have been dreaming of for months now for my birthday:

Chairs

I have been looking around to see how cheap I could get a set of chairs  for our dining room table if I decided to snag a few to make it look a little more modern. Here are a few that I have found that I really like:

Grandin Road- 2 for $189

Target- 2 for $129

Target- 2 for $79.99

 

Not bad! I would also love to have two thicker, plush chairs at each head of the table. I am thinking something more like these two from HomeGoods perhaps:

Oh What To Do With You?

I am looking for ideas on what to do with this cabinet...my maternal grandparents gave this to my parents about 20 years ago:

It's a great piece but needs to be updated. I'm thinking of fun ideas to give this cabinet a whole new look and a new life! At the same time, we are also trying to make the front part of our house more functional for entertaining, which we do a lot. I wanted to find a way to convert our little home office into more of a sitting space, so I took to the blogs and internet to see what I could find.

Well, I am Mad Men inspired. Elements of Style and Simple Classic Living know just what I'm talking about...what does every Mad Men office need? A bar! :)

One thing I for sure want to do is to give our cabinet some pop of color on the inside to make it more interesting (a great idea straight from my hubby!) just like these below:

I'm so excited to be making progress and am really excited about this fun new project. More details and updates to come....

Metal Tables

As I have been doing research to find some new must haves for our new office and Living room, I have stumbled across some gorgeous metal accent tables. Take a look:

I love this look! What a great way to have the functionality that a room requires but also keep a room light and airy. Love it!
